God
is continuing to bless Columbia County Christian
School:
Our
enrollment has climbed for the third straight
year - to the point that we have actually had to
add a second kindergarten class!
We
have expanded our athletic offerings again this
year to include a junior high girls' soccer
team.
We
were able to bring Mr. Messner on board
full-time as a means of growing our music
program and also supplying a counseling
component we so desperately needed.
New
board members have injected fresh new ideas into
the mix and we are seeing the fruits in the many
small improvements around us everyday.
The
addition of Mrs. Weber in sixth grade brings us
a capable, energetic, experienced teacher with a
passion for Christian education - a perfect
match to all of the teachers who have fit that
description for years!
Mrs.
Shaw brings a rich blend of professional and
personal experiences that make her perfectly
suited to being the new part-time kindergarten
teacher.
Mr.
Hebbard, our new business manager, brings
valuable experience that will help us chart a
course toward improved fiscal health in the
years to come.
With these blessings come challenges:
The
growth in staffing and programs means that we
need growth in our revenue stream. The budget
is tight, but we believe the Lord will continue
to provide for and prosper this ministry.
The
increase in enrollment has tightened our
physical spaces. We must begin to look to a
time when we may well have to expand our
buildings.
As
our school expands we will have to work to
maintain the family-like atmosphere we loved as
a small school. Many a Christian school has
died due to over heated growth.
In the blessings and challenges alike, we know
that God is in control and that He is using CCCS
to His glory and for His purposes. Our prayer,
as always, is that we would be willing,
cooperative servants in His plan.
